If you plan to upgrade your hard disk, and failed to find the Windows XP or Vista CD come with you Lenovo, afraid not. Your Lenovo come with a partition (usually labeled as SERVICEV001). The partition contains the OS and all the applications that was pre-installed when you purchased the laptop (XP). To create the recovery disc, follow the following steps or read here:

Go to start menu

Thinkvantage

Create Rescue & Recovery Media

Choose Create a set of Product Recovery discs now

First use the CD, then only you use the DVD. If not you will end up waste a DVD and few CDs at least, just like me. Burning the second DVD now.

Why can’t they just give the f`in media. Like Dell or any other vendor. Do they think that most of us will stick to the tiny 80GB drive. Or do they think that the drive won’t kaput at all. Haizz… waisting time oni.

Oh yeah, you can only do this once, so when you’re done, keep it in a good and safe place. Safe place alone won’t do it, make sure you remember where is the safe place in the not so near future.

After few years on widescreen, I’m back on letterbox with smaller resolution (1024×764) compared to my previous Inspiron 700m 1280×800. Nonetheless, this smaller resolution do come with good package, smaller in size and lighter in weight. Now I’m on <strike>IBM</strike> Lenovo X61. Yay! I’ve been dreaming about getting x61 for quite sometime due to it’s ultra mobility and tough in built despite the ugly looking outlook. But I don’t really care about it actually, people who knows notebook well knows its capability. My only complain so far, lack of internal optical drive and small backspace key. The screen in also not the shiny type, its the old type one.

Will take sometime to xfer all files from my previous notebook to new one. The main headache is my new storage is only 80GB while my old one is 160GB. Now where do I keep the files

To finished this riak entry, I’ll pay a visit to azwanhadzree.com and leave my first comment ever using my x61 on his dying HP blog entry ;;)

Wireless would never been equivalent to wired networking, no matter how expensive they are, at least in the near future. I’m talking about heavy usage here dude. For the past 1 week, I’ve working with few OSes installation and use network extensively. To the point, the wireless network became very unstable. We had to borrow from client a network switch. However the cable is not enough and sort of shy to ask client again. Malu weh..

Colleague went out to buy but only one available. There’s a few computer shops nearby, but from all those shops, only one 5 meters CAT 5 available. At night, even went to shop around Tanjung Malim, there’s only one computer shop has the stock, but only one. And the 5 meters normal CAT5 cable cost RM20.00, walauwehh…. For RM20.00, I can buy a dinner for 5 here at Tanjung Malim. So many shops, only 2 network cable available, one selling for RM10.0 0 and the other one for RM20.00.

Shop around and enter this one computer shop cum cyber cafe. The lady asked me,

“Network cable tu wireless cable ke?”

Hahaha… Whatever she meant, that was funny at that time..
